The Antiochian Orthodox Basilica of St. Mary came into existence through many years of study by the Parish Council and the Building Committee to preserve our Orthodox tradition and Christian architecture. Our hope was, and is, to place a piece of the ancient past in the lap of America as a gift of our faith, culture, and tradition, so that other generations will praise God in the Holy Orthodox Church.The project began in earnest in April of 2024 and was completed in August of this year, 2025. The project was a labor of love and was privately funded.The film touches on the iconography of our Orthodox faith, a bit of the church’s history that highlights the iconography of The Basilica of St. Mary in Livonia, Michigan, and is narrated by Father George.
